This was paired with close contact tracing and strict quarantine of all individuals with positive test results. This scheduled allowed people to go out at specifically allotted times to complete essential tasks. Exceptions to this were made on a designated, weekday schedule.

On April 22, the island nation of the Bahamas closed all sea and airports and began a 24-hour-a-day, full lockdown. How Has the Bahamian COVID-19 Experience Been? They have followed government regulations and hope to survive this time with minimal lives lost.

Once again the strength of this community has shown through! Natives of the Bahamas have worked together. The outbreak has meant a real hit to the tourism economy putting a large number of Bahamians out of work indefinitely. Finally, the Bahamas is a country whose economy relies on tourism. Also, as a small nation, contact tracing and strict confinement have been possible and successful. As an archipelago, it’s spread to the smaller islands could imply real health-system complications. Here in the Bahamas, the government took the COVID-19 pandemic seriously. The natural environment has taken this as an opportunity to heal and we have seen wildlife return to unlikely places. People have connected with their home environments and discovered their own abilities to bake bread. Businesses have learned to adapt in creative ways and witnessed the power of web-based communications. It has been a difficult change for many but there have been positive ramifications as well. This has meant that many people transitioned to working from home and have had to cancel travel plans and large gatherings. People in all corners of the globe have found themselves either in self or government-mandated quarantines. Corona, the most recent mutation of the COVID virus, has changed the landscape of our world. I would be very hesitant to return as I expect somewhere promoting cocktails to be serving good cocktails.2020 has been a unique year no matter where on the earth you find yourself. We stayed til closing and spent a lot of money on what was poor quality drinks and slow service. All a bit strange! After table service ended I had to order at the bar where there was only one bar man making cocktails - rather odd for somewhere that promotes cocktails! Not to mention that I think I was also overcharged and didn't notice til the next day.

When our mains (eventually) arrived, my friend was apparently given the wrong dish and had this taken away and replaced. Mine tasted mostly like lemon juice, which was not meant to be a dominant flavour! We could see that it was busy but it was hard to get the attention of staff. Our table was not ready when I arrived and our first cocktails took a very long time to come, and did not even arrive at the same time! They were disappointing to say the least and we wondered if there was even any alcohol in them. Had dinner and drinks on Friday on my friend's recommendation but the experience did not live up to expectation. We had a lot of fun but the cold food and toilet issue was a big thing for me hence my 3 stars. It sounds minor but I get the vibe Tropix is trying to be somewhat boujee but having basic toilet locks are too much to ask? Please sort that out! All in all it was a nice day and the cocktails were great - also the overall atmosphere was nice. There was a toilet attendant but nonetheless it was a bad experience in there. There was never any loo roll, I had to ask at the bar. Now I am not particularly fussy but none of the toilet doors locked - I'm not sure if this is done on purpose? But it literally means having to hold the door closed while you go. The music was great but there was random cheesey songs that aren't my cuppa tea but others liked.

Once we spoke to the waiters etc they were super nice and we ended up having loads to drink and was left the prossecco bottle - which seemed only fair as sometimes our order wasn't taken. Nobody came to us until 15:15 at which point we had to go and ask to be served. Myself and friends went for bottomless brunch on a Saturday table booked for 15:00.
